Hi and welcome. In this lesson, you'll get the
opportunity to explore business logic. Are you ready? When applying business logic, you can choose between
two primary options. This includes setting
business rules on your Microsoft Dataverse tables or building business
process flows. You'll now get to unpack
each of these options. With business rules,
you'll be able to define the behaviors
at the data layer. This is great for setting conditions for when
a field is required, setting default values, and even hiding, or showing
a field based on criteria. Let's look at another example. An example could be a table
for tracking expenses. You could have a column
for the type of travel, and then build a
business rule that states that if a user
chooses automobile, then the mileage
field is required. This enables you to maintain consistency in all scenarios. Next, you will look
at why you should make use of business
process flows. Have you ever been
in a guided tour? Will think of a
business process, flow is a tour guide that tells you where
you'll be going next, and what are some key
attractions to look out for. But what does this have
to do with business? While these workflows
can be quite handy, they're great for
providing your users with a visual illustration on the next steps based on
the status of the data. The good news is that
as the designer, you can indicate the actions
that the user needs to take. Business process flows give
your app that wow factor of automation and makes it more of a guided experience than
just a place to enter data. Let's dash off the
dashboards next. What makes an app attractive? The answer is quite simple. It's ability to visualize data. The graphics and the dashboard
tie the data together, which helps the user to get the full picture. How
can this be done? As you can see in
this dashboard there, or custom filters and visual graphics that
look appealing to users. When you create your dashboard, make sure that it's
simple for users to understand and avoid data
overload in your dashboard. Another tip is to provide high level snapshots
of your data and allow users to use filters to dive deeper into
the data if needed. Next, you'll explore additional third party
solutions and app accelerators. There are a number of
different app accelerators and third party solutions
available to you. Depending on the
industry that you're in, whether this is health, financial, and banking,
education, automotive, or media. You're welcome to explore
Microsoft's accelerators and foundational components
to assist you with quickly standing
up for your solutions. Now you not only have a picture of what your app can look like, but also the knowledge
and tools and how to create the ideal
app. See you soon.
